Goodwood Spring Sprint

We had a good day yesterday at the Goodwood Spring Sprint:

The main headline was that Marc and David finished a respectable 7th and 8th in the race car section in the red MGF and then Mike finished 8th in the road car section in our black MGTF. This was 47th, 48th and 52nd out of 84. Not bad considering we beat cars like an Aston Martin Vantage, Porsche 911 and Lotus Elises. Full results can be found here. As you can see our best times were within 0.6 seconds of each other!

Onboard videos from David, Marc and Mike can be watched here:

The MGF was suffering from suspension issues which contributed to the day ending on a slightly bad note. Unfortunately on Marc’s final run in the penultimate corner, the back end of the MGF snapped out, and although he corrected the spin probably did it too much, and spun round into the tyres at Woodcote. You can see the video here:

Luckily the only damage was the front left wing, front bumper, a dent in the door and a slightly sore shoulder.

We now face a race against time (no pun intended) to sort the car out for a test a Brands Hatch on Friday and then the race on Sunday in the MG Trophy as we’re looking to also replace the suspension. David and Mike are both very confident though we should have it ready in time.

We’d like to thank everyone who came and supported us, including our WAGs and the guys from the MGF Register, and look forward to seeing you at Brands Hatch.

(I should probably also note that Mike beat Marc’s time on the 3rd extra run of the day, but it wasn’t published in the final results.)
